Terms of Use

Effective: September 27, 2026 · Version 6

Formation and electronic assent

Before using SRNA Study Tool, users are presented with links to these Terms of Use and the Privacy Notice and must affirmatively indicate agreement before continuing. Account creation separately requires an affirmative acknowledgement. Electronic acceptance is intended to constitute manifestation of assent to these Terms. Versioned copies of the Terms and Privacy Notice are archived with cryptographic hashes, and authenticated acceptance is recorded server-side to preserve evidence of the version accepted.

Independent educational resource

SRNA Study Tool is an independently operated study resource. It is not operated by, affiliated with, sponsored by, approved by, endorsed by, or acting as an agent, representative, school official, employee, or contractor of any university, school, nursing program, faculty member, employer, professional association, certification body, licensing board, or examination provider.

Educational use only

The content is provided for study and educational purposes only. It is not medical advice, clinical direction, a substitute for formal instruction, or a guarantee of examination performance. Users remain responsible for verifying information against authoritative course materials, current professional standards, institutional policies, and applicable clinical guidance.

Accounts and age

Most study features may be used without an account. An account is required for Adaptive Mode and optional cross-device synchronization. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use Adaptive Mode.

Adaptive Mode

Adaptive Mode uses statistical and performance-based estimates to choose study questions. It is not an official or proprietary computerized adaptive testing system and is not represented as psychometrically equivalent to any certification or licensing examination.

Question reports, institutional records, and privacy requests

If you submit a question report or privacy request, you are responsible for the information you enter. Question-report submission requires an authenticated active account, but the question-report inbox is designed not to store the submitter's account identifier or email address. Do not submit student education records, grades, faculty records, patient information, protected health information, credentials, financial information, or unnecessary sensitive, confidential, or third-party personal information. The service is not intended to function as an institutional student-record system, clinical record system, or repository for protected health information.

Testing and data use

By creating an account, you acknowledge the Privacy Notice and understand that the service may process a limited account-linked first-attempt record to prevent duplicate statistical contributions. Population calibration outputs are maintained in de-identified, aggregated form and may be used for testing, validation, question-quality improvement, and Adaptive Mode calibration as described in the Privacy Notice.

No school, FERPA, or clinical-record relationship

SRNA Study Tool is not a school service and is not offered on behalf of an educational institution. Do not submit nonpublic education records, grades, student identification numbers, patient information, protected health information, or other confidential institutional records. If a school, health care organization, or other regulated entity later asks the operator to process such records on its behalf, a separate written agreement and applicable legal review would be required before that use.

Acceptable use

You may use the tool for lawful personal educational purposes. You may not attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts, interfere with service security, submit malicious code, misuse authentication systems, or attempt to re-identify de-identified calibration data.

Content and third-party rights

Users should not upload, distribute, or republish materials they do not have the right to use. References to educational concepts or source labels do not imply ownership, sponsorship, or endorsement by the original source or its author.

No guarantee of exam performance or content accuracy

SRNA Study Tool is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Content may contain errors or become outdated. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, no express or implied warranty is made regarding accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, noninfringement, uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, examination performance, academic outcomes, or clinical outcomes.

Privacy and account requests

You may delete your account using the account controls. The account panel also provides a private workflow for access, correction, deletion, appeal of a prior privacy-request decision, and other privacy requests. See the Privacy Notice for details.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the operator of SRNA Study Tool will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, academic performance, examination results, business opportunities, or clinical outcomes arising from use of or reliance on the service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that applicable law does not permit to be limited or excluded.

Account access, suspension, and termination

Cloud synchronization and Adaptive Mode access may be suspended or re-granted by the operator when reasonably necessary for security, abuse prevention, unlawful use, material interference with the service, or other legitimate service-integrity and compliance needs. Suspension does not remove the account and does not intentionally block access to the Privacy Notice, Terms, privacy-request process, sign-out, or self-service account deletion. Account deletion is permanent and removes the authentication account and active account-linked cloud study data subject to applicable legal or operational requirements. A minimal pseudonymous legal-assent evidence record may be retained for the limited period described in the Privacy Notice.

Governing law and venue

Except to the extent a nonwaivable law requires otherwise, these Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or use of SRNA Study Tool that is properly brought in court will be brought in a state or federal court with lawful jurisdiction in Virginia, subject to any nonwaivable consumer rights or venue protections.

Severability and no waiver

If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect to the fullest extent permitted by law. Failure to enforce a provision does not waive the right to enforce it later.

Entire agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Notice for account-based and data-processing features, constitute the agreement governing use of SRNA Study Tool unless a separate written agreement expressly applies.

Changes

These Terms may be updated as the tool changes. Material changes will be identified by a new version/effective date and require renewed affirmative acknowledgement for account-based features when the change affects the governing Terms, privacy practices, or legal-record handling. Continued use after required acknowledgement constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

These terms are a practical risk-reduction document for the current study-tool design and are not a substitute for review by a licensed attorney.
